Farm Life Camp - 2015!!

Seriously now. We have so much fun at Farm Life Camp!

This fun group was hands on from the moment they got here on day 1 learning about nutrition to grooming and yes, riding! As an added bonus for all, we keep our groups SMALL. Some camps think 30 is a small group and it may very well be for them, but for us, 9 is our max as it gives plenty of time for us to teach each of our kids as they learn best. That small number also allows us to take a large variety of ages with everyone still feeling fully involved.

Horses, cattle, sheep, chickens ... what will we add this year? You'll have to come to find out. :)

2014 camps sold out, so now is the time to get signed up! More information can be found at: www.willowsedgefarm.com/farm-life.html

Over 60 percent Sold Out for Farm Life Camp

I can't believe it! Our earliest year ever for so many parents signing their children up early - today is March 2, 2011 and we are 61% sold out. Yes, we did limit the number of days we are offering this summer, but only by a few less.

The week in August only has 1 opening left and - as we suspected - the July 4-8 week has more openings available. I will say, if you will be home, the 4th of July will be a super special day around here. Not just because it's a holiday and we'll have some fun activities for that day, but because they will also learn some of those things we do only ONCE a year to help protect our livestock from the dangers of the 4th.

Hurry and get your kids signed up...I'm leaving the discounted price up for just a couple more days.

Farm Life Camp 2011 - Resolution 4.

Resolution 4 ... Give more. Coming up in the following days, you will see what I mean.

Well, it's that time of year when you super organized parents start looking into summer camp - as a mom myself I am so impressed with you!

I'm a last minute kind of gal for a lot of stuff, but understand others are not, so here it is - for YOU. We have a special savings for those of you who like to do things early.

Dates for Farm Life Camp are now up and available for registering. We've changed things a bit ... we are only offering full, week long camps this year. The biggest reason for this change was because we - the kids and us - had so much fun last year during our week long camps that it seemed silly not to continue. It also will greatly reduce the paperwork we have. Downside for parents and kids - there will be a much smaller number of kids we can take on this year, so hurry on over and get your deposit in. Yep, heard that right - for the first time, we're able to take a deposit and the balance will be due the end of April.

One of the questions we are getting a lot these days is, "What happens if your farm sells?" Great question.
Our plan is to continue Farm Camp - property sold or not. If for some reason the new owners absolutely say no, we will issue 100% refunds, but it is our utmost desire that the "new owners" will keep running the farm just like it is!One of the reasons we haven't been is such a hurry to sell.

Are you ready? Well then, head on over to our website and take a look at the dates available and sign up! Not sure? Have questions? Drop us a note or give us a call and we'll  get 'em answered for you quickly. Don't delay - we've got a special offer for you early birds!

Is summer really only 6 months away?

Kids and interns learning horse anatomy with a game.
In looking at the calendar I realize I'm behind schedule. This time last year we already had our Farm Life Camp lesson dates set. Gosh, we had already started selling them as Christmas presents for a few amazing grandparents and aunts!

I'm not ready.
I'm not, I'm not, I'm not.

OK, with that moment out of the way, we at least have been discussing it ... More or less than last year? What dates? What happens when the farm sells? What new activities do we add in and what do we drop? What will our pricing be? So many questions, but not a lot of answers yet. They are coming though ...

Did your kids attend last year? What was their favorite part? Least favorite?

It's so funny - we always have at least one kiddo everyday who says, "I don't want to clean stalls" and that is ALWAYS the child who tells us they would rather clean the stalls than clean their room (laundry, dishes, etc. whatever their chore at home is) when they are done. I think that some of them believe that is what we'll be doing it all day. Fortunately for them, it accounts for about 15 minutes of our day!

We know - we've got to kick it into high gear for those of you very organized parents. We had half our our camp filled by the end of February last year!
